Dear Project Members,
As we begin the new year, I would like to reflect on our achievements in 2024 and share my enthusiasm for the road ahead towards the conclusion of our POTENTIAL project in September 2025.
Despite the challenges, including delays in the availability of more stable versions of the ARF, Reference Implementation and standards, we united our efforts and reached significant milestones.
Together, we delivered the first version of the technical and functional specifications for our six use cases to the European Commission. Our Board of Beneficiaries meeting in Athens strengthened our unity and set the groundwork for national implementations. We organized a landmark global interoperability event with 133 participants from four continents, as well as a Hackathon with NiScy in Dresden, showcasing our collaborative spirit and highlighting our progress in integrating wallet components.
Additionally, we successfully completed our first official periodic report, which resulted in a complete interim payment, soon to be distributed among our participants to further finance our efforts in 2025 and carry us closer to achieving our shared vision.
Stepping into 2025, our collective determination is key to achieving our ambitious goals. Other interoperability events —including early February in Warsaw to test the presentation of PID data between wallet issuers and relying parties—will help us bridge knowledge gaps and identify best practices to accelerate our testing. We will also conduct cross-border interoperability tests and hold our final Board of Beneficiaries meeting in Prague by mid-year, preparing for project completion in September.
Let us carry forward the momentum we’ve built and face 2025 with renewed energy and determination to leave our legacy to new LSPs which will take over at the end of the year. Together, we have shown what is possible when we unite towards a common goal, and I have every confidence that we will continue to succeed.
Wishing you a happy, healthy, and successful new year.
Warm regards,

Potential’s Coordinator
