On July 1–2, 2025, the POTENTIAL consortium played a central role in the Global Digital Collaboration Conference (GC25) held at the Centre International de Conférences Genève (CICG).
Organised by the OpenWallet Foundation in collaboration with international organisations, this landmark event gathered global leaders to advance interoperability, security, and citizen-centricity in digital identity infrastructure. The event marked a key moment for the European eIDAS ecosystem, coinciding with the conclusion of the first wave of Large Scale Pilots (LSPs) and the finalisation of implementing acts under eIDAS 2.0.
In his presentation, the POTENTIAL Coordinator Florent Tournois outlined how our consortium – comprising 19 countries and over 160 public and private partners – is advancing the European Digital Identity Wallet through large-scale testing and real-world use cases. From eGovernment services to mobile driving licences and ePrescriptions, the project demonstrates the potential of a secure, privacy-preserving, and interoperable identity infrastructure.

A strong presence across strategic topics
POTENTIAL was also highlighted in other GC25 sessions:
- “Digital Identity Wallet: A Cornerstone of Europe’s Digital Public Infrastructure”: A strategic discussion on wallets as enablers of trusted digital ecosystems, with contributions from the European Commission, India, and POTENTIAL.
- “Cross-Border Interoperability – Insights from the G7 Mapping Exercise”: A session including France Titres and OECD, where the role of LSPs, including POTENTIAL, was discussed in the context of international alignment.
These interventions reinforced Europe’s commitment to open standards, public-private cooperation, and digital sovereignty through the trusted rollout of the EUDI Wallet. Live demonstrations of the wallet were also held during the event, showcasing its practical applications and user-centric features.
